“Inclusive EduJobs – For more education and employment possibilities for Roma and Egyptians in Albania” aims the inclusiveness of the Roma and Egyptian communities in Albania in the field of employment and education.

About the project

The overall project objective is to improve the inclusion of women and men, boys and girls from Roma and Egyptian communities in Albania by strengthening municipal capacities to establish and deliver inclusive services to Roma and Egyptian citizens in the area of employment and inclusive education.

This will be achieved by promoting self-employment/ employment schemes, social enterprises and access to digital and blended education for Roma and Egyptian students at the local level through financial support to third parties or sub granting for each intervention scheme in the area of employment or education.

Inclusive EduJobs has three main pillars:

  1. Increasing access to the labor market;
  2. Improving the school achievements of Roma and Egyptian students;
  3. Increasing the capacities of institutions and organizations

Increase employability and self-employment opportunities for Roma and Egyptian communities and narrow the employment gap through piloting and rapid testing of innovative models.

Strengthen the capacities of the involved municipalities (Tirana Municipality, Elbasan Municipality (Shushica), and 3 municipalities engaged in the project by means of competitive selection) for collaborative designing and managing of the above employment and education schemes together with CSOs, and effective utilization of funds from central government.

Increase school enrolment and attendance rates, prevent drop-out and reduce functional illiteracy of Roma and Egyptian children, including mitigate the negative effects of COVID-19 by increasing access to blended education and scholarship programs for compulsory education.

Enhance the role of seven Roma and Egyptian grassroots civil society organizations in action planning and policy advocacy at the local and central level to inform and validate public decision-making addressing Roma and Egyptian needs and constraints, with a particular focus on employment and education.

From the implementation of Inclusive EduJobs project will benefit:

Albanian Civil Society Organizations (19-21 CSOs which will apply the sub-granting scheme)

Students and academic staff of at least 15 public schools in Tirana and other municipalities

190 Roma and Egyptian students will receive the scholarship

Municipalities (Tirana Municipality and 3 other municipalities prioritizing those municipalities which have significant Roma and Egyptian population)

Governmental Institutions (Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Employment Agency, Regional Agricultural Directorates, Chamber of Commerce)
