A new Inclusive EduJobs initiative is opening meaningful economic opportunities for 30 individuals from the Roma and Egyptian communities, empowering them to build sustainable livelihoods through self-employment. The programme supports traders at the Secondhand Clothes Market in Shkoza, enabling them to access quality second-hand clothes for resale while receiving ongoing mentoring, coaching, and business development assistance.
This support is designed to strengthen their economic independence and create the foundations for long-term financial stability.
High-Level Participation
The launch event brought together key institutional representatives and partners, underlining the strong commitment to fostering social inclusion and economic empowerment. Participants included:
-
Mr. Silvio Gonzato, EU Ambassador to Albania
-
Mr. Alfred Nurja, Program Support Director at OSFWB
-
Ms. Ina Majko, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Welfare
-
Ms. Anuela Ristani, Acting Mayor of Tirana
Their presence highlighted the significance of coordinated, inter-institutional cooperation in advancing equal opportunities and supporting vulnerable communities.
Promoting Economic Empowerment and Social Inclusion
Speakers emphasized the transformative role of self-employment initiatives in supporting the Roma and Egyptian communities, particularly in strengthening financial resilience, increasing access to decent work, and fostering broader community integration.
By enabling participants to develop their own small businesses within the Secondhand Clothes Market, the initiative contributes to building confidence, enhancing skills, and promoting sustainable economic participation.
